Today was one of the best days I’ve had in a while. After my morning class, I went to visit my family and friends down towards Washington PA.

Spending time with my aunt that I haven’t seen in quite some time, we were very close when I was younger, but growing up and college happened, but I always knew she would love me the same. Talking privately with her for just a couple minutes made such an impact on my life, she helped with giving advice on some personal and emotional issues I was having. It was very nice to hear her perspective, listen to her advice and even her experience with similar situations that I’m going through. I am beyond thankful that I not only got to see her, but really get to talk one on one. Also, she showed me a folder of all the letters I wrote to her when I was a child, when we were big pen pals for about 4 years. I absolutely loved reading them, some of the stuff I discussed in them made me smile, because my life was so simple and carefree at that point, it made me realize that even though I am older, and I have more stuff going on, that I should still have that simple, carefree viewpoint on things.

Along with my family, I got to spend some time with my friends that I don’t get to see often, we went to the meadows to watch some harness racing, which was another great part of my day because I grew up around the sport, and absolutely loved being able to watch it and remember all of the times I use to travel with my father to watch him train, drive, and own these animals.

That night we all sat around, drank some wine, and talked about everything and anything. It was all a nice reminder that even though I might not talk to this part of my family or friends everyday, I’m still surrounded by love and support. I’m beyond thankful, and I definitely went to bed with a positive and hopeful attitude that I am still experiencing today.
