Harness racing is apart of my family. This week is a big harness racing event in Delaware, Ohio for “the Little Brown jug” as much as I wish I was there to see it in person, but unable to due to school and work, I got to watch my cousin drive some races, along with my other friend’s horses participate on the television while studying. Witnessing some of my friends (who are drivers) win plenty of races, was a very proud moment for me, while also getting my stuff done that needed to be. I felt both accomplished, and also I felt like I was also able to “be there” for my friends and family.
I have been very stressed, busy, and running around due to work, classes and personal situations, that I haven’t had much time to keep in contact with my best friend who lives in Pittsburgh, we usually talk everyday, but for the last couple days we have only been able to send a few short texts back and forth, but last night on my way home, we had a 45 minute conversation to catch up. It’s always great to have a conversation with her, about things that are going on in our lives, to small talk about “the dumb stuff”. Friendship is a large part of my life, and knowing that even though we might not talk everyday, but we can pick up at anytime to continue our friendship is a wonderful thing to have.
One last thing, was talking to my brother, although it was just for a few short minutes, visiting my brother is always a pleasure. we have the same humor, which is always nice, so a casual short conversation, “cracking jokes” was probably the highlight of my evening.
